The chimney breast inside this property has severe damp. As usual the only way to fix the problem is to take things apart to get to the root of it. We had to carry out repairs to the under felt & slates plus render the chimney stack as the stone blocks had suffered some deterioration. We also had to lift & re-bed the ridge tiles using new mortar

When this extension roof was constructed the under felt was installed incorrectly by being lapped the wrong way allowing rain water to run directly into the property
