Removal of redundant/leaking gas cowl. This gas cowl had been leaking directly onto an electric fire. Once the gas cowl has been removed we effected a felt repair & closed the roof.
Repairs to slate roof. The mortar on the ridge & coping stones at the verges was old & dilapidated.
This gutter has caused a leak into the building due to corrosion. We fixed it by cleaning out all the debris, thoroughly drying it out then priming it to retard the corrosion. We then sealed it using a fibreglass reinforced acrylic membrane.

This property has several leaks and the only way to fix them properly is to take the problem areas of the roof apart to get to the root of the problem and carry out the appropriate repairs.
This lead flashing had become dangerous over time due to poor installation & was hazardous to the house’s occupants because it is directly above the front door.
When Re-pointing a ridge we never butter over old mortar. We rake it all out, lifting & re-bedding any ridge tiles that are loose. Our new mortar is 3 parts sand to 1 part cement with different additives depending on the weather.
The tiles on this roof were wrongly installed with a 1-2 inch head lap. This meant that the under felt has been doing all the work since day one. Due to the excessive water traffic the felt has deteriorated and sagged causing a leak.
