Slate repairs, new gutter & re-pointing of failed mortar.

Raking out & re-pointing the failed mortar using Tuck pointing. Part of the reason this mortar failed was because it had been done in Yorkshire Bond A.K.A. Strap pointing which has a tendency to gather water at the top of the bond which eventually works it’s way behind the pointing. This is why as roofers we use Tuck pointing which doesn’t let this happen and therefore lasts a lot longer being more weather resistant.

Re-lining of cast iron trough gutters plus repairs to lead flashings/coping stones.

Clearing out the trough gutters in preparation to re-line them.

Repairs to leaking chimney stack & bitumen under felt

Replacement of cast iron gutters using newly refurbished lengths.

Re-pointing the ridge tiles using new mortar.

Re-pointing the coping stones at the verge & repairs to the under felt at the eaves using breathable membrane underlay.
