Flat roof conversion. When this extension was constructed the angle of the pitch is too low for a tiled roof covering. The wind impedes flow of rain water down the roof blowing it under the tiles. The same thing happens to the rain water on the under felt below and it gets in through the laps on the under felt due to lack of flow. The nails used to fix the tiles are also too long and they pierced the under felt everywhere. To remedy these problems we are converting the roof with a one piece EPDM rubber membrane

Installation of new timber firrings to give the roof deck suitable flow and Sterling OSB roof boards on flat garage roof
Replacing the dilapidated sections of lead on the valley gutter using new code 4 milled lead, re-fixing the slates replacing any that were damaged or broken and re-bedding and pointing the ridge tiles using new mortar
Stripping off the slates, lath battens and lead on the valley gutter to install new vapour permeable breathable membrane pitched roof underlay and tanalised lath battens
Stripping off the concrete roof tiles and lath battens to carry out repairs to the perished bitumen under felt at the eaves using vapour permeable breathable membrane pitched roof underlay plus new white UPVC trims on the bay window / porch flat roof

Carrying out repairs to the slates and lead soakers, installation of new anti corrosion/U.V. coated aluminium flashings at the abutment walls plus removing the failed render and re-rendering the abutment walls
